Fiestas Patronales 2025: Record Attendance Expected

localPublished June 2, 2026

This year's Fiestas Patronales in July promises to be the largest in recent memory, with diaspora organizations in Washington D.C. and Maryland already coordinating group travel.

Every July, something remarkable happens in Intipucá. The small coastal city of roughly 10,000 residents swells with returning diaspora members, creating a reunion unlike anything in most Salvadoran municipalities.

"We expect more people than ever," said one community organizer based in Maryland. "Every year it grows, but this year something special is happening — people want to come home."

The festivities typically include processions honoring the town's patron saint, live music and traditional dances, food stalls, carnival rides, and family reunions spanning two continents.
